There is a time limit for each event which you need to meet in order to have your time listed in that category, otherwise your time will be recorded for the next shortest distance you have already finished within the time limit, which will make you eligible for that category.
.
The “ULTRA” event is the longest distance available at most venues. All are welcome to ride in this event who can finish in the time limit of 2 hours, but it is not recommended that children under the age of 14 attempt this event or those with health conditions that prohibit high heart rates.

The “ENDURANCE” event, the 2nd
longest distance, is
not recommended for children under the age of 12 or those
with health conditions that prohibit high heart rates. The time limit for the uphill portion is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
.
The “INTERMEDIATE” event is open to all, but is not recommended for children
under age 10 unless they have enough experience with climbing hills on a bicycle. The time limit for the uphill portion is 1 hour.
.
The “SPRINT” distance will be
a short event, and while it is open to all ages, it is the most recommended
distance to choose for those ages 5-10 or over 65, and those new to cycling. On road races, parents are required to ride to the right of any
children under age 10 until the roads are closed for the races. The time limit is 30 minutes.
.
The “TODDLER”
event will be
approximately 50-100 M long and will be off the road near registration
at a park or another safe place near where the start of all the other
events is. These will only take
about 1
minute so we will start these 5 minutes before the hour of the posted
start time when all the other events start so that parents can be able
to help their kids or
watch them before participating in an event themselves. All toddlers get a finisher prize and it is not a timed event.
