& START LOCATION: just 4 miles up the mouth of Payson Canyon up S
Payson Canyon Rd (google maps calls it this
but the sign says Nebo Loop Rd) at Maple Dell parking lot, 13885 S Nebo Loop Rd
(this address should get you close using any
type smart phone using google maps, but an iphone will change the street name to Payson Canyon Rd, and prefers 13885 S, while an Android prefers 13970 S ). It has an outhouse there. It is just before the Camp Maple Dell and
Coal Pit Creek Road. The elevation is 5606'.
The Toddler ride will start 5 minutes before the main events in the parking lot of Maple Dell.
The Sprint distance will be only 1.2 miles to the finish at the Maple Bench Campground turn off (Forest Road 020), then you will ride back to the start for prizes for a total of 2.4 miles. The elevation here is 5900'. It is 294’ elevation gain and a 5% average grade.

The Endurance distance will end at the unnamed parking lot which has room for 35 cars. It is about 3.2 miles to the finish, then you will ride back down for a total of 6.4 miles. It is ___’ elevation gain and a __% average grade.
The Ultra distance will end at the Pete Winward Reservoir, which is 4 miles to the finish line, and a total of 8 miles round trip. It is 1244’ elevation gain and a 6% average grade. The elevation is 6850'.

This road is not a dead end, so for those who want to continue riding
farther, feel free. It is a total of 18
miles to the summit from Kiwanis Park.
The deeper
you go into the canyon the closer you are approaching wildlife, possibly bear
country, so it is advised that you ride with a partner and/or carry bear spray
if you decide to continue riding alone after the event. There are some snowmobilers, hikers, and skiiers using the road, so please yield to them when passing and watch for fast snowmobilers coming around blind turns. The venue is not closed for our event, so please use courtesy when passing others who are not participating in our event.
